In The Indictment, The Former Governor Of North Maluku Use 27 Accounts To Accommodate The Capai Bribes Of IDR 100 Billion

TERNATE - Prosecutor of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) read out the indictment against the former Governor of North Maluku (Malut), Abdul Gani Kasuba (AGK) in the case of accepting bribes and gratification of buying and selling positions and infrastructure projects reaching more than Rp100 billion. In the trial of reading the indictment at the Ternate District Court (PN), KPK prosecutor Rio Vernika Putra said the defendant AGK as the state administrator received gratuities of Rp99.8 billion and 30 thousand US dollars via transfer or in cash. In this case, AGK used 27 accounts to receive gratuities and bribes, both using accounts belonging to the personal secretary, family and belonging to the defendant. He detailed, of the Rp99.8 billion he received, Rp87 billion was through transfers through various banks in stages in 27 different accounts. "The defendant received gratuities starting from the infrastructure project fee in North Maluku reaching Rp500 billion, which came from the state budget and the defendant allegedly ordered his subordinates to manipulate the development of the project as if it had been completed above 50 percent so that the disbursement of the budget could be done," said Rio. In addition, AGK is also suspected of accepting bribes of IDR 2.2 billion. The money is allegedly used for hotel lodging to pay for his personal health needs. The prosecutor also said that the amount of money flowing into 27 accounts held or controlled by Ramadhan Ibrahim as an aide was Rp. 87 billion. Apart from that, AGK also received cash in the form of a US$30 dollar. According to him, the money received through the Rp87 billion account was gradual. So the total amount received is Rp99.8 billion and 30 thousand US dollars. The buildings that stand in three plots of land, namely HM 1113, 1129 and 1405 above are three-story buildings consisting of rooms (infiltration) which are one unit Abdul Gani Kasuba 20-Mar-2024 STPBB/0736 DIK.01.05/23/03/2024. After listening to the reading of the prosecutor's indictment, the AGK trial was closed by Chief Justice Francis Pilarbolon and will continue on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, with the agenda of examining witnesses. The chairman of the Panel of Judges, shot Francis Pilarbolon, asked the KPK prosecutor to present the account holders and witnesses who gave money to AGK. To note, Abdul Gani Kasuba was named a suspect in a corruption case of receiving gifts or promises related to the procurement of goods and services project, obtaining permits and filling regional apparatus positions in the North Maluku Provincial Government and other receipts.

AGK is imposed to have violated Article 12 letter a or letter b article 11 and or Article 12B of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption as amended by Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption in conjunction with Article 65 paragraph (1) and Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
