Dasco Claims The Leadership Of The DPR Has Given Permission For Commission III To Discuss The Constitutional Court Bill During The Recess Period

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, responded to a meeting of the House of Representatives Commission III Working Committee (Panja) which suddenly discussed the Constitutional Court Bill (MK) on Monday, May 13, afternoon. In fact, members of the DPR are still undergoing a recess. Meanwhile, the plenary meeting for the opening of the new session was held on Tuesday, May 14, morning. Dasco said the leadership of the DPR had given permission to the relevant commission to hold a meeting during the recess. "If there should be a discussion during the recess, the leadership should have permission, and I have checked that there is a permit from the leadership," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 14. During the meeting, the DPR and the government represented by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto agreed to continue the second level of discussion and decision-making against the Constitutional Court Bill, at the DPR Plenary Meeting. However, Dasco said that the DPR had not yet determined when the plenary meeting for the ratification of the Constitutional Court Bill would be held. He said that decision-making related to the law has the opportunity to be carried out during this trial period V. "I see that the decision that has been taken between the government and the DPR remains to be continued in the plenary session. So that this long session also allows the relevant commission to also coordinate with the government," said Dasco. "Stay now or during the trial, we will just wait for the results," added the daily chairman of Gerindra.

It is known that the government's working meeting with Commission III of the DPR RI took place quietly on Monday, May 13. The discussion meeting on the Constitutional Court Bill was chaired by the Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI from the Golkar Party faction, Adies Kadir and Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI from the Gerindra Party, Habiburokhman.
