The Issue Of The East Lombok Iron Sand Corruption Defendant Wara-wiri To China, The NTB Prosecutor's Office Threatens The Status Of City Prisoners To Be Revoked

NTB - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) stated that the status of the city prisoner defendant Po Suwandi (77) was threatened to be revoked if he violated the rules.

Po Suwandi as Director of PT Anugrah Mitra Graha (AMG) is a defendant in corruption mining iron sand in the Dedalpak Block, East Lombok Regency.

"If he (Po Suwandi) is caught out of Mataram City, his city detention status can be revoked by the panel of judges at the NTB High Court as the party who issued the city detention," said NTB Attorney General Efrien Saputera in Mataram, NTB, Monday, May 13, as reported by Antara.

If it is revealed that he is outside the city of Mataram, he explained, Po Suwandi's detention status, who is currently waiting for the cassation decision at the Supreme Court, could turn into house arrest.

"Later, the court will change the status of his detainee to house arrest. That's if it is found out outside the city of Mataram," he said.

However, so far Po Suwandi as long as he is a city prisoner is still being monitored in Mataram City. Once a week, Po Suwandi is in the status of a city prisoner getting the obligation to report his whereabouts to the NTB Prosecutor's Office.

"So, Po Suwandi's position is still being monitored in Mataram City. He is required to report once a week according to the determination of the panel of judges at the appeal level," he said.

The same thing was also conveyed by Po Suwandi's attorney, Lalu Kukuh Kharisma who was met in Po Suwandi's assistance carrying out the obligation to report at the NTB Prosecutor's Office.

"So, if the supervision of Mr. Po, we cooperate with the prosecutor's office, every week there is a mandatory reporting, so that his status remains known to be in Mataram City. That is a form of supervision," said Lalu Kukuh.

In one week, he continued, there are no rules that require his client to carry out compulsory reporting on certain days.

"The agenda must report according to the schedule of the prosecutor's office," he said.

Regarding the whereabouts of Po Suwandi in Mataram City, Lalu Kukuh chose not to disclose it to the public. He only made sure Po Suwandi was in Mataram City according to the address listed in the court.

"If Mr. Po is here, it is still in accordance with yesterday's address, which was in court. However, we don't want to convey that, because journalists will come there later, sometimes it's uncomfortable," he said.

By conveying this, Lalu Kukuh dismissed the issue of Po Suwandi living in Surabaya or going back and forth from China to Mataram City.

"The issue has actually appeared since Pak Po previously served detention in prison. That's not true," he said.

Furthermore, Lalu Kukuh said that his party is currently taking legal action against the cassation. He hopes that the material from the cassation memorandum that has been submitted to the Supreme Court can be accepted.

"Our appeal memorandum is acceptable, now that's what we're waiting for," he said.
