Gerindra Opens The Possibility Of Revision Of The Ministry's Law Before Prabowo's Elected Presidential Inauguration

JAKARTA - Secretary General (Secretary General) of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani revealed that it is possible to revise Law Number 39 of 2008 concerning the Ministry of State can be carried out before the inauguration of the elected president and vice president in October 2024.

"Yes, maybe the revision is possible. Yes, the revision can be done before (the inauguration)," said Muzani when met after a halalbihalal event with the Tegal Family Association throughout Jabodetabek at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday.

Muzani said that every president has different challenges and policies at all times so that changes in the ministerial nomenclature through the revision of the Ministry Law are flexible.

"But because every president has different problems and challenges, in my opinion the ministry's law is flexible, not fixated on numbers and nomenclature," he said.

Muzani said that in the era of the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri and the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) also had the arrangement of different ministerial nomenclatures.

"I think almost every ministry from Mrs. Mega to Mr. SBY there has been an addition or a change, from Mr. SBY to Pak Jokowi there has also been a change, and whether from Mr. Jokowi to Pak Prabowo there has been a change, that's what I don't (know)," he said.

Previously, on Thursday 9 May, Chairman of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives Ahmad Doli Kurnia said that the revision of the Law on Amendments to Law Number 39 of 2008 concerning the Ministry of State was necessary for the Indonesian people to keep up with the times.

According to him, the Ministry Law has been implemented since 16 years ago, even though Indonesia in the last 16 years has far developed and the world is progressing.

"Only three or four years of people have changed. The situation in the developmental progress environment has changed a lot, so I think it's probably time to review the law," Doli told ANTARA in Jakarta.

According to him, the proposed increase in the number of ministries to 40 ministries will also be considered if the discussion of the Ministry Bill begins to be held at Commission II of the DPR.
