SEMARANG - Police are investigating the discovery of a baby boy who is thought to have just been born in front of the house of a resident of Jalan Tambra Dalam, North Semarang, Semarang City, Central Java.
The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the North Semarang Police, Iptu Kumaidi, said the baby was found in a bucket with a piece of paper that read "Ask, please, sir (ask to be taken care of, Ms.)".
"It was first found by the owner of the house who owns a laundry business," he said in Semarang as quoted by Antara, Monday, May 6.
A baby weighing 2.6 kilograms is thought to have just been born because there is still a rope attached. The police who received the report on the discovery of the baby conducted a crime scene investigation and examined a number of witnesses to find their parents.
He suspected that the baby's parents knew the owner of the house where the baby was left.
"It is possible to know the owner of the house, his parents are still investigating," he said.
The baby who was found in good health was then taken to the Bandarharjo Health Center for further treatment.
