The Case Of Bendesra Berawa Rice Investors Rp10 Billion, The Attorney General's Office Will Check Badung Regency Government Officials

The Bali High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) will schedule an examination of 10 witnesses from the Badung Regency Regional Government (Pemda), Bali in the alleged extortion case committed by Bendesa Berawa with the initials KR (54) to investors regarding licensing for land sale and purchase transactions.

Head of Bali Attorney General's Office, Putu Eka Sabana, said the investigative team had scheduled an examination of ten witnesses this week.

"Where are the witnesses from the Traditional Village, Regional Government (Pemda Badung Regency) and other related parties for filing until the complete case file is obtained

The Berawa Traditional Village is currently being held at the Class II A Penitentiary (Lapas) Kerobokan, Badung Regency, Bali, on suspicion of extorting an investor with the initials AN amounting to Rp 10 billion.

"The Bali Prosecutor's Office has named KR as a suspect and detained the suspect for 20 days at the Kerobokan Prison," he added.

Investigators then reconstructed the process of arresting the suspect at Cafe Bunga Eatry, in the Renon area, Denpasar City, on Friday (3/5) presenting suspects and witness AN along with other witnesses with nine scenes.

After reconstructing the incident of handing over money by witness AN to the suspect KR, the investigative team immediately examined six witnesses.

"Including witness AN and the examination of the KR suspect who was accompanied by his legal advisor," he said.

Bendesa KR is suspected of extorting an investor with the initials AN for Rp. 10 billion in the case of licensing for land sale and purchase transactions in Berawa Village, North Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali. KR was arrested while making a transaction with AN at a cafe in Renon area, Denpasar City, on Thursday (2/5).

KR as the Traditional Bendesa has made efforts to extort in the process of buying and selling transactions carried out to AN with the owner of the land whose initials were not mentioned in Berawa Village, Badung.

"Brother KR asked for Rp 10 billion in money for the transaction carried out by AN with a land owner. So that in the process starting in March (2024) AN has made several transactions to KR," said Bali Kajati Ketut Sumedana.
