The Body Of A Missing Boy While Playing Soccer In Cawang Was Found By The Police In Kebon Melati Tanah Abang

The body of a man was found by the Tanah Abang Police Criminal Investigation Unit in the West Flood Canal, near the Water Agency's waste management unit post (UPS), Kebon Melati, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta in the early hours of Friday, May 3.

Apparently, the victim with the initials MNT (13), a resident of Cawang, East Jakarta, who had disappeared by the current of the Ciliwung River about a few days ago. According to information from the Tanah Abang Police in Jakarta, Friday, May 3, this finding was obtained after the Tanah Abang Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit team searched along the Ciliwung River asked every resident who had lost his family members. The police who finally found the victim's family and then accompanied them to confirm the body in the morgue of Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM). The family then took the victim's body to be buried. There were no scars found on his body.

The police then explained the chronology of the incident that happened to the victim, which began when he played football on the outskirts of Ciliwung River, Cawang, East Jakarta on Wednesday, May 1, at around 17.00 WIB with two of his friends. When the ball fell into the river, the victim tried to pick it up but he slipped, fell into the river and was carried away by the current of the river.

Responding to the incident that happened to the victim, the Head of the Tanah Abang Metro Police, Kompol Aditya Simanggara Pratama, advised parents to pay more attention to their children who played football on the banks of the Ciliwung River and asked them to be careful. "Don't let there be more victims because of football. Please play in a safe place far from the Ciliwung River," said Kompol Aditya. The sinking of a person to Ciliwung is not the first time this has happened. Previously, two people, namely Arif Mujahidin (19) and MAS (5) drowned in the Ciliwung River on Tuesday, April 20.
