Korlantas Deploys World Water Forum Operational Electric Vehicles In Bali

JAKARTA - The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police deployed 231 electric-fueled operational vehicles, both two-wheelers and four-wheelers, to secure the 10th World Water Forum in Bali on 18-25 May 2024.

"Yes, we use electric vehicles as escort and security operational vehicles," said Director of Law Enforcement (Dirgakum) Korlantas Polri Brigadier General Raden Slamet Santoso in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 3.

The use of electric vehicles as operational vehicles has also been used during the escort and security of the G-20 Summit delegation in November 2022.

Slamet, who is also the Head of the Security Task Force and Regulation of the Vehicle Traffic and Parking Route (Kasatgas Walrolakir) of the 10th World Water Forum, detailed the number of electric vehicles, namely 64 units of two-wheeled electric vehicles and 45 units of four-wheeled electric vehicles for VVIP escort.

For VIP guest escorts, 68 units of two-wheeled electric vehicles and 50 units of four-wheeled vehicles are for escort.

"In addition, there are also 2 units for mobile command (Kommob) and 1 unit for traffic accident (TAA)," he said.

In addition, Korlantas Polri also mobilizes traffic personnel from the level of the National Police Headquarters, Bali Police, and the closest regional police such as the East Java Regional Police and the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Police.

"All of this is for the safety, safety and smooth running of the World Water Forum so that Indonesia's name in the international arena can be better," he said.

In the forum, Indonesia together with member countries of the World Water Council are looking for various mechanisms and approaches to resolve issues related to water.

There are three processes that will specifically discuss water problems that are closely related to politics, regional/area, and thematics. First, the discussion space between stakeholders from the head of state, members of parliament, ministerial officials, local governments, and river territorial authorities, for water issues that are closely related to politics.

Second, discussing water issues by involving stakeholders from the government to non-profit institutions, and finally related to regional/area issues. Forums will open discussion space between stakeholders from a number of areas, namely the Mediterranean, Asia Pacific, America, and Africa.
