Former KPK investigator Yudi Purnomo assessed that the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, underestimated the role of the KPK Supervisory Board because he did not fulfill the summons for the ethics trial on Thursday, May 2. In fact, Ghufron should have set an example to his subordinates.

It is known that Ghufron was tried on ethics because he was suspected of communicating with the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) regarding the mutation of an employee.

"As Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, he should set an example to attend the ethics trial. Nurul Gufron's absence seems to underestimate the role of Dewas in maintaining the ethics of KPK leaders and employees," said Yudi in a written statement, Friday, May 3.

Yudi regretted Ghufron's attitude who did not attend the ethics trial. Because, in that forum he should be able to defend himself regarding the alleged ethics that dragged him.

Yudi emphasized that there was no effect on the ethics trial with a lawsuit to the State Administrative Court (PTUN) filed by Ghufron. Thus, his absence must be a separate note for the KPK Council.

As previously reported, the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, admitted that he deliberately did not attend the ethics trial of the KPK Supervisory Board regarding the alleged abuse of authority for discussing the mutation of employees of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) today, Thursday, May 2. He said he had sent a letter and asked for a postponement.

"Incidentally, I deliberately and also through a letter said that I hope that the examination of the ethics trial against me will be postponed," Ghuftron told reporters at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, May 2.

Ghufron explained that there were a number of reasons why he asked for a postponement. The first is because he is filing a lawsuit at the State Administrative Court (PTUN) and in accordance with Article 55 of the Constitutional Court Law (MK), the ethics trial should be postponed.
