Repressive Actions In The US Do Not Influence Sydney University Students, Today's Pro-Palestinian Demo Continues

JAKARTA - Hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators, the majority of whom students, have again voiced protests over the violence that has occurred in Gaza, Palestine.

They are gathering again today to carry out a peaceful demonstration in the Sydney University area against Gaza being bombarded in Israeli aggression against Palestine.

News.com.au reported that at least 500 people have packed Australia's oldest campus since Friday, May 3 morning local time.

A group of pro-Palestinian students who took part in this demonstration argued that there would be a pro-Israel demonstration against the large number of mass action participants on their campus today.

Meanwhile, at least 100 Israeli supporters are at the University of Sydney. They asked the university to act so that Jewish students feel safe on campus without responding to what the demonstrators were calling for.

Demonstrations of solidarity with Palestine at the University of Sydney were also followed by the establishment of a number of tents. The masses of pro-Palestinian students chose to stay in the campus area to continue to voice their actions.

This activity on campus in Australia is in the midst of a massive demonstration movement in many campus environments in the United States (US).

Students in the US condemned the Israeli attack on Palestinian Gaza that killed as many as 34,500 Palestinians mostly children and women.

They also asked the campus to stop all forms of cooperation including student exchanges and research funded by Israeli affiliated institutions or companies.

However, recently the demonstration of pro-Palestinian students in the US was responded to repressively by officials and regional officials because they were considered a form of hatred against Jews.

Recently, the tents participating in the pro-Palestinian demonstration on the UCLA campus,men's, USA were razed to the ground by fully armed antihuruhara police. The demonstrators were pushed back until the angle of the campus was forced to disperse.

This disbandment effort was carried out although previously there was no form of chaos from the demonstration held in the UCLA campus area.
