Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, emphasized that his staff will continue to control illegal parking attendants (jukir) at points that are not allowed to park.
However, Syafrin acknowledged the return of illegal jukir in areas that had been brought under control by officers because they had experienced high income just by managing parking.
"Indeed, from the results of our identification related to the implementation of illegal parking, the income is quite high," Syafrin told reporters, Friday, May 3.
In its enforcement, the Transportation Agency usually maintains guard at certain hours and expands vehicles parked at illegal jukir management locations.
However, illegal jukir can still take advantage of the gap by returning to make the parking lot at the location that was previously put under control.
Therefore, the Transportation Agency will change regulations regarding illegal parking sanctions in DKI Governor Regulation Number 188 of 2016 which can deter jukir wildly.
"We are currently conducting a study and then we will carry out identification to change the current 2016 governor's regulation," he explained.
Syafrin also highlighted the presence of illegal parking attendants in the minimarket parking area because the public often complained about it.

Not a few minimarket managers have installed free parking notices, but there are still jukir who collect parking rates. In fact, Syafrin emphasized that the provisions for parking in minimarkets are free of charge.
"Regarding parking in mini markets as our regulations, there is free parking there. So, the manager is not allowed to collect," he explained.
Therefore, Syafrin emphasized that he would impose sanctions on illegal jukir who were still collecting parking rates at minimarkets.
"We will communicate with the Satpol PP how to control it in the future. We will take firm action, try to find loopholes and then impose what kind of sanctions," he added.
