Hasto Respects Legal Process, KPK: Ideal Response Of The Secretary General Of The Big Party

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) responded positively to the attitude of the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto who respected the legal process related to the alleged bribery case of Harun Masiku who is now dragging him down.

"That is the ideal response conveyed by him as one of the largest party secretary generals in Indonesia," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika Sugiarto to reporters, Friday, December 27.

According to Tessa, Hasto's attitude can also set an example for other parties suspected of committing acts of corruption to cooperate and obey the law that is currently in progress.

Tessa hopes Hasto is consistent with her statement. Because, based on the results of the KPK's deepening, Hasto is suspected of having made legal efforts by instructing Harun Masiku to run away.

"We go back to his statement, yes, that he will obey the law. I think it would be paradoxical if he said that but did something different. I think that according to our assessment should not be done by HK's brother," explained Tessa.

The KPK has named Hasto as a suspect in the bribery case against former KPU RI Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan who also dragged Harun Masiku. In his determination as a suspect, Hasto is said to be actively involved in the bribery case process to former KPU RI Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan to take care of the PAW Harun process.

In addition, Hasto is also suspected of obstructing efforts to investigate the KPK to explore the bribery process against Wahyu. Hasto is said to have instructed Harun to submerge his cellphone and run away during the KPK's arrest operation (OTT).

Later, Hasto Kristiyanto stated that he was ready to face the legal process that was running at the KPK after being named a suspect in the Harun Masiku case. PDIP has also expressed its attitude and respects the decisions of the KPK.

"We are a law-abiding citizen. The PDI-P is a party that upholds the rule of law. From the start, when I criticized how democracy must be enforced, how the voices of the people cannot be castrated, how the rule of law cannot be turned off, and how the eyes of authoritarian power, who oppress the people themselves must be stopped, I already understand the various risks that I will face," said Hasto in his statement, Thursday, December 26.

Hasto then mentioned the figure who was thirsty for power was behind his determination as a suspect. The figure is suspected to be the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo. The reason is, Jokowi some time ago was fired by PDIP because he was considered to have violated the party's statutes/articles, one of which was participating in a joke in the election.

"When various intimidation arises, so that there is no dismissal of a person who has ambitions for power so that the constitution seems to want to be violated by extending the three-term term, or extending the term of office, for the sake of the constitution, Mrs. Mega firmly stands to maintain democracy," explained Hasto.

"And when law enforcement officers are used at all costs to intimidate, state resources are used for practical political interests, then the choice to face a thick wall of power must be carried out by PDI-P cadres," he continued.
