Pope Francis: The Weapons Industry 'Take Profit From Death'

JAKARTA - Catholic Church leader Pope Francis denounced the arms industry which he called "taking advantage of death." This was conveyed by Pope Francis in public at the Vatican at the General Audience Wednesday, May 1. He said that currently, the largest revenue-generating investments are weapons factories. “ Getting the advantage of death is a very bad thing, ” he said as quoted by Vatican News via Antara. Francis called on Catholics to pray for peace and victims of war. “ War has always been a defeat, ” he said, calling for prayers for those suffering from the war in Ukraine and Palestine. Francis also highlighted the severe conditions experienced by Rohingya refugees in Myanmar due to civil war.

"Let's pray for peace, let's ask for true peace for them and the whole world," he said.
