Police Commissioner Adjutant Aji Yoga said the perpetrator was desperate to steal because he was in a lot of debt. He stole 2 grams of gold from the Tabanan Market shop.
"The motive is economy (lots of debt), borrowing money. (The stolen gold) approximately 2 grams," he added.
