JAKARTA - Mayor of Solo (Surakarta) Gibran Rakabuming Raka has distributed cell phone numbers for public complaints. The WhatsApp number is listed at 0812-2506-7171 and Instagram gibran_rakabuming.

Seeing this, a political observer from Al-Azhar University, Ujang Komarudin, said that Gibran was making a political investment.

In other words, to increase electability for the chance to return to the front in the election for governors in strategic provinces.

"It is possible for Gibran to advance again to the Governor Election, both for the Governor Election for Central Java and the for DKI. Because the Governor Election is held simultaneously in 2024," Ujang told VOI, Monday, March 8.

According to Ujang, this was effective in gaining public sympathy. The former Governor of DKI Basuki Tjahaja Purnama had spread the complaint number.

"This at least builds a positive image for Gibran. People will see Gibran as if he cares and is concerned about society. Moreover, there are not too many people in Solo, around hundreds of thousands," he continued.

However, that does not mean that Gibran is finished with spreading complaint numbers. President Joko Widodo's son must follow up on complaints from residents who report to him.

"For example, there are residents who face land disputes, bad bureaucratic services, or infrastructure that is damaged and needs to be fixed, or conflicts with fellow communities," he explained.
