Update On COVID-19 As Of March 7: 5.826 New Cases, 1.379.662 Total Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. Of the 43.900 specimens examined today, the results were 5.826 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1.379.662 people and as many as 147.172 active cases", quoted from the Ministry of Health's data, Sunday, March 7.

Today's recovered cases have increased by 5.146 cases so that a total of 1.194.656 people have recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 112 people and the total was 37.266 people.

The province with the newest cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1.834 cases and a total of 345.816 cases. Followed by West Java which has 1.366 new cases with a total of 218.154 cases. Central Java has 395 new cases and a total of 155.808 cases. Then, East Kalimantan has 351 new cases and a total of 56.999 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1.826 recovered cases. Followed by East Kalimantan with an additional 575 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 538 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 430 recovered cases.

No province reported having zero cases as of today. Provinces reporting cases under 10 are West Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Papua, Aceh, Gorontalo, and Maluku.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 11.148.477.

"The cumulative positive result per number of specimens examined or the positivity rate today was 24.2 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 67.659 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently, there are 2.888.757 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 1.133.787 vaccines for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 40.349.051 people.
