Police Arrest 3 Murderers In Sukoharjo, Motive For Paying Debt

Police officers arrested three suspected perpetrators of the murder of a woman in Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java, whose bodies were wrapped in plastic when found.

Central Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General of Police Ahmad Luthfi said the three perpetrators killed the victim named Serlina, a resident of Jumapolo, Karanganyar Regency, because of economic motives.

The murder took place on April 8, 2024 and the victim's body was only found on April 14, 2024.

"The perpetrator needs money to widen and pay off debts," said the Kapolda, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 24.

The three perpetrators of the murder who were arrested each had the initials DP (22), RMS (21), and GS (29), all residents of Polokarto, Sukorharjo Regency. They were arrested in different places on Sunday (21/4) and Monday (22/4).

The Kapolda explained that the murder incident began when one of the perpetrators with the initials DP, who was the mastermind of the crime, contacted the victim to meet after work.

When the victim arrived, the perpetrators then killed the victim by entangling her neck using a pencak silat uniform belt.

In addition, the perpetrator also hit the victim with a stone at the scene.

After killing the victim, three perpetrators then took the victim's property away and threw his body wrapped in plastic.

For their actions, the perpetrators who have been named as suspects were charged with Article 338 or Article 339 or Article 340 of the Criminal Code concerning murder.
