JAKARTA - A viral video on social media shows the electric car Chery Omoda E5 being exhibited crashing into the wall of the Mall of Indonesia (MOI), North Jakarta.

The video uploaded on one of the Instagram accounts shows the front car being damaged. Likewise, the ceramic wall of the mall was damaged. The incident shocked mall visitors.

Allegedly, the child accidentally touched the button that made Cherry Omoda's car go until it hit the wall.

Kelapa Gading Police Chief, Kompol Maulana Mukaram confirmed the incident. According to Maulana, the incident occurred at MOI Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Sunday, April 21.

"The results of checking the crime scene and clarifying the witnesses that the incident occurred on April 21, 2024," Maulana said when confirmed, Monday, April 22.

He said that the case had been resolved amicably. Luckily, there were no victims in the incident.

"It has been resolved amicably between the vehicle owner (showroom) and the child's family who crashed into the car (Cherry Omoda) at MOI," he said.
