The Constitutional Court Also Rejects The Lawsuit Against The Ganjar-Mahfud Presidential Election Dispute

JAKARTA - The Constitutional Court (MK) has decided to reject the request of the Ganjar-Mahud camp regarding the Dispute on the General Election Results (PHPU) of the President and Vice President 2024. "Reject the applicant's application in its entirety," said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo during a trial at the Constitutional Court, Monday, April 22. The Ganjar-Mahfud camp is known to have applied for the Constitutional Court to disqualify candidate pair number two, namely, Parbowo-Gibran to be qualified. There are several arguments in the petition submitted, such as allegations of ethical violations during the 2024 presidential election. Then, President Joko Widodo's nepotism action was carried out. Allegations regarding the occurrence of coordinated abuse of power in all lines of government, and alleged violations of election procedures that occurred before the voting process that occurred in SIREKAP. The Constitutional Court also emphasized that the decision handed down by the a quo court was a decision that was deemed appropriate based on legal evidence and facts in the trial and had complied with the principles of law and justice in accordance with Article 24 paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution.

In this decision, there are three constitutional judges who state dissenting opinions. They, Saldi Isra, Enny Nurbaningsih, and Arief Hidayat.
