Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro forbade his members to carry firearms while securing a demonstration ahead of the 2024 election dispute decision in the horse statue area of Monas, Gambir District, Central Jakarta on Monday, April 22.

"Of course, the National Police Chief has emphasized that there will be no use of firearms in securing public opinion delivery activities today," said Kombes Susatyo when confirmed.

To prevent unwanted things from happening, the joint apparatus has tightened the area around the Constitutional Court (MK) building since Sunday evening, April 21.

"Since last night we, the Central Jakarta Police and the Central Jakarta Kodim, have started tightening and supervising the Constitutional Court area. Currently, personnel have carried out sweeping around the area," he said.

In the Monas area there are 5,200 personnel and the rest are in other election objects, KPU, Bawaslu and surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, based on reports of demonstrations received by the Central Jakarta Metro Police, the masses of the protesters to gather in the Monas horse statue area.

"Since 08.00 WIB, traffic diversion has been carried out on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat and Medan Merdeka Utara," he said.
