Don't Spend National Energy To Discuss Jokowi And Megawati's Meeting

Political observer Adi Prayitno hopes that the Indonesian nation will not waste its energy just to discuss the meeting between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the Chairperson of the PDI-P, Megawati Soekarnoputri.

This is because the discourse on meeting the two figures is actually an internal PDI-P issue, not a matter of the nation and state.

"The meeting between the two is not a matter of the nation but an internal problem. Do not let the energy of this nation run out just to discuss the meeting between Jokowi and Megawati," he said, Sunday, April 21, 2024.

According to Adi, so far the public does not know whether Jokowi actually also wants to meet Megawati. The reason is, until now there has been no official statement that Jokowi wants to meet Megawati at the moment of Eid al-Fitr now.

This political inter-elite meeting, he continued, was actually hope from the public, when there was a discourse on the meeting between Prabowo Subianto and Megawati. Therefore, as a continuation of the discourse, a question arose when Megawati would meet Jokowi.

The executive director of PPI admitted that friendship at the moment of Eid al-Fitr was a good thing. However, the public does not know whether there is an intention from one of the parties to open an initiative to meet. Moreover, the public also does not know who can represent Jokowi, whether volunteers, palaces or even Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"The fact is that until now there has never been a statement that Jokowi wants to meet Megawati. Actually, this is the hope of the public so that the two of them can be intimate again. I think the atmosphere of PDIP's criticism has now closed the door to a meeting with Jokowi," he said.
