Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Hadi Tjahjanto ensured that his party was preparing for security mitigation when the Constitutional Court (MK) announced the decision on the dispute over the General Election Results dispute (PHPU) for the Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres) 2024.

He said that his party always pays attention to the course of the PHPU dispute trial at the Constitutional Court. He also hopes that the trial process, which is currently still running, will run smoothly until it is finished.

"We maintain security, then we have action plans so that everything can be safe, peaceful, and protected," Hadi said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, April 18.

According to him, the demonstrations carried out in front of the Constitutional Court Building are a natural thing because every citizen has the right to have an opinion. According to him, the government also listens to what is conveyed by the community.

"But we have to keep this trial going, I think that's normal," said the former TNI commander.

Previously, the Constitutional Court's clerk said that the trial for reading the decision on the 2024 presidential election dispute was held on April 22, 2024 and that schedule was not possible to be accelerated.

Based on Article 50 of the Constitutional Court Regulation Number 4 of 2023, the PHPU of the Presidential Election was decided by the Constitutional Court within a maximum deadline of 14 days from the time the application was recorded in the Electronic Constitutional Case Registration Book (e-BRPK). The Hakim Consultative Meeting (RPH) related to the 2024 Presidential Election PHPU has been ongoing since Tuesday (16/4).

Spokesperson for the Constitutional Court (MK) Fajar Laksono said that the institution's independence ecosystem was maintained when handling the 2024 Presidential Election Result Dispute (PHPU) case.
