In The Aftermath Of The Zakat Celebration Of Muslims, Pastor Gilbert Reported To Polda Metro Jaya

JAKARTA - Pastor Gilbert Lumoindang was reported to Polda Metro Jaya on suspicion of blasphemy. This happened in the aftermath of a sermon about Islamic zakat.

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, confirmed the report. He said the report was received on Tuesday, April 16.

"It is true that the report was received on April 16, 2024 regarding the alleged blasphemy," said Ade Ary when confirmed, Wednesday, April 17.

The police are still investigating the report. The case is now being handled by the Sub-Directorate of Kamneg Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya.

"It is handled by the Crimean Kamneg Sub-Directorate," he said.

Contacted separately, Pastor Gilbert only responded briefly to the report. He apologized for the case.

"Once again, we apologize to those who are hurt and hurt, God willing, in the future it will be better," he said.
