Iran Launches Drone Attack, Takes Hours To Get To Israel

JAKARTA - Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has confirmed the launch of an Iranian order against Israel, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) said, which tracks drones that take several hours to reach Israel.

An Israeli defense official told Army Radio that more than 100 Iranian drones had been intercepted outside Israeli airspace, from hundreds fired at Israel, reported The Times of Israel April 14.

The report said the drones were also shot down by the United States and Britain.

IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Allahhi in his press statement confirmed that the drone launched from Iran was heading to Israel.

He said the Israeli Air Force was tracking the drone, and noted the drone would take several hours to reach the country.

If there is an additional attack, which requires a separate warning, Laksda Badhi said the IDF would provide the public with the latest information.

The siren will only sound if the drone enters Israeli airspace, at a relevant location, he said.

He said the IDF would seek to intercept targets as early as possible. Israel's air defenses, although not airborne, are strong, he stressed.

Separately, Channel 12 said the US was the first to identify the launch and immediately notify Israel.
