Korlantas Polri Prepares Option To Prevent Contraflow Accidents

JAKARTA - The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police has prepared a number of options to prevent accidents during the implementation of counter-current traffic engineering (korlantas) during the backflow of Eid al-Fitr 1445 H.

"We have prepared a number of options to guard travelers after the accident on the Jakarta CikampekKM 58 Toll Road," Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Polri Inspector General Pol Aan Suhanan was quoted by Antara in Semarang, Saturday.

He said the implementation of counter-current engineering would be carried out on the Trans Java Km 72 toll road to Km 47.

His party together with Jasa Marga are preparing a rescue car that arrives every 30 minutes and they will overtake the driver to adjust the speed of the car on the track.

In addition, the cone (cone) which was previously installed 30 meters long will be shortened to 10 meters.

"The barrier will be reached by its position," he said.

His party has also prepared rescue vehicles in every disturbance received by motorists so that there is a quick action when a problem occurs.

Officers were also placed at an uneven point on the toll road to signal to slow down vehicle speeds.

"The key is speed. In this 'contraflow' the speed is limited to 60 kilometers per hour," he said.

Previously, from the Kalikangkung Toll Gate, Central Java, KM 414 to the Cipali KM 72 Toll Road, the police conducted a discretion for the implementation of a one-way system.

After that, vehicles heading to Jakarta will go through a system against the flow and even and odd restrictions.

The government has officially implemented a one-way system on the Trans Java Toll Road starting from the Kalikangkung Toll Gate (GT), Central Java to Cikampek Utama GT at 15.00 WIB or D+3 Lebaran to launch backflow.
