Police Examine 6 Witnesses In Death Case Of 4 Technicians At Septic Tank CSB Mall Cirebon

Cirebon City Police, West Java, summoned six witnesses for questioning for investigation into the death of four technicians who died in the septic tank room at Cirebon Super Block Mall.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Cirebon City Police, AKP Anggi Eko Prasetyo, said that the witness examination was aimed at gathering new facts related to the incident that occurred on Tuesday (9/4).

"We make sure the investigation continues, while examining witnesses related to the incident," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 12.

He conveyed that apart from examining witnesses, the external and internal post-mortem process on the condition of the victim carried out by the forensic team was still ongoing today.

According to him, further investigations are needed so that the exact cause of the deaths of the four victims can be revealed and later related parties can implement preventive measures so that these events do not happen again.

In handling this case, the Cirebon City Police also involved an expert team from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and the local Fire and Rescue Service (DPKP) to collect the latest data.

"From the crime scene (TKP) still carrying out the status quo, checking with the expert team. The entire team moved to collect information related to the incident," he said.

From a provisional statement, Anggi said the four technicians died after carrying out routine maintenance in the septic tank room in the shopping center.

The victims were immediately evacuated and rushed to a nearby hospital for an autopsy.

"Currently we are still waiting for the autopsy results," he said.

Previously, Cirebon Mayor Agus Mulyadi assessed that the incident that happened to the four technicians was a work accident in the waste treatment process.

Agus also urged mall managers to report the incident in writing. Whether it's chronology and data that related agencies need.

"This incident must be an evaluation for management. What kind of system is running in waste management, it must be done optimally and we hope that incidents like this don't happen again," he said.
