Thousands Of Visitors Crowd Monas On The Second Day Of Eid

JAKARTA - On the second day of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah, Thursday 11 April, the National Monument (Monas) became a favorite tourist destination in Jakarta, with thousands of residents visiting it.

"A total of 5,616 people visited Monas on Thursday morning," said the Head of the Monas Regional Management Unit (UPK), Muhammad Isa Sarnuri, when contacted in Jakarta.

Of these, there are 4,539 adults, 1,053 children, and 24 foreign tourists from Australia, Brazil, Germany, Korea, and Italy.

Isa added that on Thursday night, visitors can also enjoy video tapping and fountain performances on the west side of Monas.

With various entertainment options, it is hoped that visitors can stay long in the Monas area. There is no limit on the number of visitors to the Monas peak area, and the area will be opened until 18.00 WIB. However, for the tael courtyard and museum, there is a quota limit of 1,800 visitors.

On April 13, 2024, starting at 16.00 WIB, Monas managers will hold entertainment events on the south side of Monas. The event will feature a number of artists, including singer Candil, Lobow, Band Om, Renaga Tahier, Om Managa Palawa Labdawara Rembe (OMPLR), as well as the Margasari and Fico studios. The event will last until 23.00 WIB.

People who want to visit Monas during the Lebaran holiday can use access to the southwest door, IRTI, southeast door (Gambir), or northeastern door.

Isa estimates that the number of Monas visitors can reach 20 thousand to 40 thousand because it has entered the Eid holiday season.
