Muslims In Leihitu, Central Maluku, Perform Eid Prayers Today

AMBON - Muslim communities in a number of countries/villages in Leihitu, Central Maluku Regency (Malteng), Maluku Province, have performed Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri prayers today, Tuesday 9 April.

Those who celebrate the victory day 1 Syawal 1445 Hijri are residents of Hila, Kaitetu, Seith, and Negeri Lima.

One of the mosque's imams, Abdul Kadir Ollong in Hila Country, said that the determination of 1 Ramadan 1445 hijriah in Hila was carried out based on calculations/hisab using an old calendar.

"For the determination of 1 Ramadan, we will start calculating from 1 Muharram 1445 Hijri, and all of that is in rhythm up to 1 Syawal today," said Ollong, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 9.

The Eid prayer is centered at the Hasan Sulaiman Hila Mosque. Prayers are led by the imam and khatib of Hasan Sulaiman Hila Mosque, Yusuf Lating. Eid prayers in Hila are safe, smooth and solemn.

Ollong admitted that the Hila residents began fasting 1 Ramadan on Sunday 10 April. So we fast for 30 days. So, today we are doing Eid prayers," he said.

Similar to Hila, the implementation of Eid prayers in Kitetu, Seith and Negeri Lima also went safely and smoothly.

The four villages that held the Eid prayer earlier had the same calculation or reckoning in determining 1 Syawal 1445 Hijriah.

Previously, apart from these four countries, the Wakal Country also carried out Eid prayers earlier on Monday, April 8.

Meanwhile, other countries in Leihitu, such as Hitu, Mamala, Morella, Ureng and others will hold it on Wednesday tomorrow.

Meanwhile, this year, the Ministry of Religion will only hold an Isbat Session (Determination) 1 Syawal 1445 Hijriah on Tuesday, April 9, 2024
