Indonesian Navy Alerts Warships In Rowing Ponds Ahead Of Eid

JAKARTA - Fleet Command (Koarmada) I of the Indonesian Navy has alerted a number of warships and soldiers at the Koarmada Unit I Pondok Rowing Complex, Jakarta, to anticipate threats and vulnerabilities that occurred during the Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri holiday on April 6.

Head of the Information Service of Koarmada I Marine Lt. Col. (F) Yoni Nova Kusumawan said there were several ships on standby in Jakarta, namely multi-plier light frigates (MLRF), Parchim class corvettes, hospital aid ships (BRS), and several ships from patrol boat units.

"For KRI who are alerted according to their needs, both in Pondok Rowing and in the area of operation, it is carried out according to orders and supervisors. Currently, there are several types/types of KRI (Indonesian warships) that are standardized in Jakarta, such as MLRF, Parchim, BRS, and several ships from patrol boats," said Kadispen as reported by ANTARA, Monday, April 8.

The Indonesian Navy Information Service in an upload on its official Instagram account showed several ships on standby at Pondok Rowing, namely KRI Sutanto-377, KRI Teluk Sibolga-536, KRI Teluk Celukan Bawang-532, KRI Teluk Cirebon-543, and KRI Teluk Sabang-54.

The Commander of Fleet Command I, Rear Admiral TNI Yoos Suryono, also directly inspected the ships on standby at Pondok Rowing, Jakarta, Sunday (7/4).

He also got on the ships that docked and checked his condition as well as readiness. Not only the ships, but Yoos also checked the readiness of the soldiers, including the crewers.

The Indonesian Navy's Information Service explained that readiness was important to ensure soldiers were always alert to be deployed when there were emergency situations during the Eid holidays, such as fires or accidents at sea.

This alertness was also a follow-up to the instructions of the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (KSAL) Admiral Muhammad Ali, who when met at Kolinlamil Pier, Jakarta, last week (5/4), emphasized that the Indonesian Navy was always alert and ready during the Eid holiday.

He explained that the Indonesian Navy actually increased supervision during the holiday period, because often criminals used loopholes to commit crimes during the red date.

"So, we always have ships on standby, both in homecoming conditions and normally. And, for this Eid condition, of course, we are more alert, because usually at these critical times there are those who try to carry out illegal activities," said Admiral Ali.

The Indonesian Navy ships on standby include patrol boats, ships on standby for search and rescue operations (SAR) in the event of an accident at sea.

Ali conveyed that the Indonesian Navy also deployed several units at the battalion level and at the company level to help the National Police maintain security during the homecoming, Eid holidays, and backflow.

"For the security of Eid al-Fitr, we are the Ketupat Operations BKO. Yesterday, the TNI Commander (General TNI Agus Subiyanto, ed.) explained that we have prepared several units at the battalion level and at the company level for security. Whatever is needed by the Police, we have prepared for the security of this Eid," said Ali.
