JAKARTA - The West Java Provincial Government has completed 100 percent of the distribution of the first phase of rice food reserves in 2024 for 4,445,601 beneficiary families (KPM) in West Java.

The distribution of food aid, which is coordinated by the West Java Food and Livestock Security Service (DKPP) together with Perum Bulog for the West Java Region and PT Pos Indonesia Regional 2 and 3 West Java Regions, is part of the Government Food Reserve (CPP) program.

President Joko Widodo mandated the distribution of CPP Rice Commodity Food Assistance to 22,004,077 KPM. Each family will get 10 kg of rice.

The head of the West Java DKPP, M. Arifin Soedjayana, said that the distribution of phase one food aid for the West Java region, which began in January-March 2024, was completed.

"Thank God, for stage one, 100 percent were distributed with 4,445,601 KPM recipients or the equivalent of 44,456,010 kilograms of rice," said Arifin.

He hopes that the rice commodity food assistance received by the people of West Java is not only one of the instruments controlling inflation, but also beneficial for the community ahead of Eid Al-Fitr 2024.

"Hopefully this assistance can meet people's food needs ahead of Eid al-Fitr. The allocation of phase two distribution is still waiting for directions from the central government," he explained.

Arifin said that the KPM data source for the CPP program came from data on the Implementation of the Acceleration of Extreme Poverty Elimination (P3KE) of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK), which was submitted to the National Food Agency, followed by an assignment to Perum Bulog for the distribution of Rice Commodity Food Assistance.

According to him, the assignment mechanism to the distribution and replacement of the recipient refers to the Decree of the Head of the National Food Agency of the Republic of Indonesia Number 01/TS.03.03/K/I/2024 concerning Technical Guidelines for the Distribution of Government Food Assistance for the Provision of Food Assistance in 2024.

West Java then followed up on the Letter of the Head of the National Food Agency of the Republic of Indonesia No. 450/TS.03.03/K/12/2023, dated December 29, 2023, regarding the distribution of CPP for Rice Food Assistance in 2024, addressed to Governors, Regents, and Mayors throughout Indonesia.

Coordination and collaboration were carried out for the West Java Province, including West Java DKPP, West Java Bappeda, West Java Social Service, West Java Bulog Perum, West Java Regional Bulog Branch Office, PT Pos Indonesia Regional 3 and 2 together with related agencies in districts/cities.
