IDF Calls Investigation Of WCK Aid Convoy Attacks In Gaza Has Been Completed And Immediately Submitted To The Public

Israeli spokesman Defense Forces (IDF) Rear Admiral Daniel Badhi said a military investigation into the deadly attack on aid convoys in Gaza earlier this week had been completed, with the results being delivered to the public soon.

In response to a question at a news conference, Laksda totaling the incident, which killed seven aid workers at the World Central Kitchen (WCK), was investigated "in a thorough manner" by the General Staff Fact Finding Assessment Mechanism, an independent military body responsible for investigating unusual incidents in the midst of war.

He said the head of the mechanism, Major General (res.) Yoav Har-Even, submitted the findings to IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi today, and is scheduled to convey them to Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"I am sure that after we convey it to the ambassadors of the relevant countries, and to the people of WCK, we will immediately publish it in a clear and transparent manner," said Laksda Miki, quoted by The Times of Israel April 5.

Earlier, seven WCK humanitarian workers were killed in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza Monday. WCK said in a statement that the victims traveled in two armored cars bearing the WCK logo and other vehicles.

Although the convoy was already coordinated with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the convoy was attacked while leaving Deir al-Balah's warehouse, after lowering more than 100 tons of humanitarian food aid brought to Gaza by sea, the WCK said.

Laksda waryani expressed his condolences for the incident, promising a transparent investigation.

"It was a mistake that occurred after misidentification, at night, during war, under very complex conditions. This should not have happened," he explained, adding that there was no "intention to harm WCK aid workers."

An 'independent' agency will also investigate the incident and will present its findings in the coming days, he said, adding the IDF would soon implement its conclusions and distribute it to WCK and other relevant international organizations.
