Ask The Constitutional Court To Summon The National Police Chief, Kubu Ganjar Wants To Ask Allegations Of Intimidation To Inequality Of Members During Elections

JAKARTA - The Ganjar-Mahfud Legal Team asked the Constitutional Court (MK) to present the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to hear his statement at the General Election Results Presence (PHPU) trial.

The reason is that the issue or alleged criminalization of state apparatus in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) stage can be clarified.

"Why the police chief? Because later it will be shown to all of you, that there are quite a lot of things related to the police, the police who are intimidating, criminalizing, who are involved in in the neutrality in the campaign," said the head of the Ganjar-Mahfud Legal Team, Todung Mulya Lubis, to reporters, Tuesday, April 2.

Not only that, if the National Police Chief can be presented at the trial, Todung said Sigit would also be asked to explain the policies and orders he conveyed to the ranks related to the 2024 General Election.

That way, in the trial of disputes over the results of the presidential election, it is not only focused on allegations of politicization of social assistance (bansos).

"So we want to ask the National Police Chief also to provide explanations and accountability in his policies and orders, because it is not enough to only look at social assistance issues," he said.

Because, when it comes to social assistance politicization, the Constitutional Court has taken steps to present four ministers on Friday, April 5.

The ministers are Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati, and Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini.

"For Mrs. Sri Mulyani, Mrs. Risma, Airlangga Hartarto, there are more questions about social assistance. But we also see aspects of violations committed by the police that injure democracy and the integrity of general elections," said Todung.
