JABAR - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) has imposed a time limit for street vendors (PKL) to sell during takbiran nights to maintain order and security ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah.
Acting Mayor of Bandung Bambang Tirtoyuliono said this decision was an effort to maintain order and cleanliness during the night celebration of takbiran by limiting street vendors from selling until 23.00 WIB.
"For the sake of security and order, we emphasize that street vendors can only operate until 23.00 WIB during takbiran," said Bambang in Bandung, Monday.
Bambang said this also aims to avoid crowds that have the potential to have piles of garbage around where street vendors sell on takbiran nights.
"In addition to maintaining public order, we also help the work of the Bandung City Environment Agency (DLH) in maintaining cleanliness," he said.
Therefore, he hopes for cooperation from all components of society, including street vendors, to create a safe and comfortable environment for all.
"In this situation the local security forces will carry out surveillance to ensure compliance with the appeal," he said.

Bambang also asked the public to maintain mutual respect and share kindness in the spirit of Eid al-Fitr celebration.
Previously, the Bandung City Government had also given an appeal regarding the prohibition of lighting firecrackers or firecrackers, illegal racing and convoys that could disrupt public order, especially before the night of the takbiran.
"This message is a joint effort to maintain order and peace in the city of Bandung," said Bambang.
The appeal was also based on a joint commitment in carrying out Regional Regulation No. 9 of 2019 concerning Trantibum, which is the legal basis for maintaining public order and security.
