Bogor DPRD Proposes 3 Candidates For Acting Mayor To The Ministry Of Home Affairs

BOGOR - DPRD Bogor City, West Java, stated that it had proposed three candidates for mayor to the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) since the end of 2023.

Bogor City DPRD chairman Atang Trisnanto said the three names were proposed before the term of office of Mayor Bima Arya and Deputy Mayor Dedie A. Rachim ended in December 2023.

"Based on the previous proposal letter, we propose three names of candidates for acting Mayor of Bogor, namely Bogor City Secretary Mrs. Syarifah Sofiah, Head of Household of President Bogor Palace Presidential Secretariat Mr. Erwin Wicaksono, and Director of Road Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation who is also Plt. Head of the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ) Mr. Suharto," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 29.

At that time, said Atang, according to a letter from the Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Bogor City DPRD had held a plenary session announcing the end of the term of office of the mayor and vice mayor as well as sending a letter of proposal for the acting mayor.

However, after the Constitutional Court's decision was made, it was the Constitutional Court's decision, namely that the term of office of the mayor and deputy mayor would not end on December 31, 2023, but April 20, 2024.

"So, at this time in principle we are waiting for directions from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Is it necessary to hold a plenary announcement of the end of the term of office or not. Whether it is necessary to re-propose the acting mayor or not," he explained.

Sementara itu, Wali Kota Bogor Bima Arya Sugiarto mengatakansejauh ini sudah tidak ada lagi pembahasan tentang penjabat wali kota sehingga dirinya tinggal menunggu keputusan Mendagri menjelang masa akhir jabatanpada 20 April 2024.

"Nothing has been discussed again. Everything has been submitted by the DPRD, submitted by the governor, we just have to wait. Nothing else," he said.

In fact, he continued, the name of the acting mayor has been processed since the end of 2023 and so far there has been no change. "There's no change. We'll just have to wait. Maybe one of those names or maybe another name," he said.
