Prosecutors Demand 15 Years In Prison For Caretaker Of Lempongsari Islamic Boarding School Semarang, Perpetrator Of Obscenity

The caretaker of the Hidayatul Hikmah Al Kahfi Islamic Boarding School, located in Lempongsari, Semarang City, Central Java, with the initials MA alias BAA, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for sexual abuse of an female student.

Semarang District Court spokesman Haruno Patriadi said in the case that was tried behind closed doors, the public prosecutor also demanded that the defendant pay a fine of Rp. 1 billion which if not paid would be replaced with imprisonment for 6 months.

"The prosecutor also demanded that the defendant pay a restitution of Rp. 30.8 million to the victim," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 28.

According to him, the defendant was found guilty of violating Article 81 paragraph 1 of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection.

Upon this charge, the defendant had the opportunity to deliver his defense.

The incident of sexual abuse of the defendant MA alias BAA against the victim MJ occurred from April to December 2021.

The defendant allegedly molested the victim by threatening him at a hotel in Semarang City.

The defendant was threatened with an alternative indictment, each Article 81 paragraph 1 or Article 81 paragraph 2 or Article 82 paragraph 1 of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection.
