KPU Study Lawsuits For Presidential Election Results 2024 Anies And Ganjar

JAKARTA - Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari said his party studied and listened and observed all the main cases or arguments of the petitioners in the lawsuit for dispute over the results of the 2024 presidential election (Pilpres).

The applicant in the PHPU lawsuit for the 2024 presidential election, namely candidate pair number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and candidate pair number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.

"So basically we listen, observe, read, and then provide notes to the petitioners' main points," said Hasyim as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 27.

As the respondent in the PHPU lawsuit, Hasyim said the KPU would use various plaintiffs' requests as the basis for compiling answers, statements, explanations, or proofs in the form of documents, witnesses, or experts, which are needed for the next PHPU trial.

He also said that the KPU some time ago had prepared a coordination meeting with provincial and district/city KPUs to anticipate all the topic of application by the petitioners, especially for various initial trials of the 2024 presidential election PHPU.

Today, a preliminary examination of the PHPU for the 2024 presidential election is held which is divided into two sessions.

Case one, namely the application submitted by candidate pair number 1 Anies-Muhaimin with register number 1/PHPU.PRES-XXII/2024, which was held at 08.00 WIB-completed.

Meanwhile, case two, namely the application submitted by candidate pair number 3 Ganjar-Mahfud with register number 2/PHPU.PRES-XXII/2024, which was held at 13.00 WIB-completed.

Furthermore, the stages of the trial examination and the submission of the respondent's answer, information from related parties, and a statement were held on Thursday (28/3). The trial is planned to be merged into one session at 13.00 WIB.

The trial examination stage will be held on April 1-18, 2024 and the stage of the pronouncement of the verdict or stipulation will be held on April 22, 2024.
