Secretary General of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani stated that his party was not interested in changing or revising the Law on the MPR, DPR, DPRD and DPD (UUD MD3) which regulates the position of chairman of the DPR being occupied by members of the council from the party that won the general election (election).

This was emphasized by Muzani in response to the rejection from the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto regarding the issue of revising the MD3 Law in order to fight for the chairmanship of the DPR.

"I have said several times that the MD3 Law regulates the position of the MPR, DPR and DPRD where it is stated that the position of chairman of the DPR will automatically be held as the party that wins the election," said Muzani, Tuesday, March 26.

Gerindra assessed that the mandate of the MD3 Law was correct and appropriate. So that the party chaired by Prabowo Subianto was not interested in participating in revising the MD3 Law just for the sake of fighting for the chairman of the DPR.

"Gerindra is not interested in making the revision. Because we want to create a conducive political atmosphere, togetherness that we must continue to maintain at Senayan despite political differences, differences in aspirations, but we want to uphold togetherness as a way for us to be able to solve problems that we have many different problems," explained Muzani.

The chairman of the Gerindra faction of the DPR explained that the rules contained in the MD3 Law regarding the position of chairman of the DPR had been mutually agreed upon. On his way, said Muzani, no one objected if the political party winning the election became the holder of the hammer led by the DPR.

"Gerindra has no objection to anyone who sits on the chair of the DPR if the party wins the election," said Muzani.

The deputy chairman of the MPR was not worried if PDIP was in control in Parliament. Muzani then gave a signal that the party bearing the bull symbol would not necessarily be an opposition or take a stand outside the Prabowo-Gibran government.

"The opposition PDIP? Who said? If it turns out not, what?" he concluded.
