North Sumatra Police Receives Report Of TNI Entry Mode Fraud

The North Sumatra Regional Police received a report from Riadi, a resident of Tanah Jawa District, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra who was suspected of being a victim of fraud against suspect NW with the mode of entering the TNI by paying Rp355 million.

"There are currently seven victims of fraud and embezzlement by the suspect NW, this number has increased after previously only four people," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Had Wahyudi in Medan, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 27.

Hadi continued, one of them was Riadi officially reporting NW with the Police report number LP/B/377/III/2024/SPKT/North Sumatra Police on March 25, 2024.

According to him, this mode is to pass to become an Army NCO by sending it directly to a bank account in the name of NW.

"However, after the money was sent, the victim's child with the initials MA failed to be inaugurated as a TNI NCO. Meanwhile, at the end of January, Rindam Kodam I/Bukit Barisan had inaugurated the Indonesian Army NCO," he said.

Previously, the Sub-Directorate IV of the Renakta of the North Sumatra Police Criminal Investigation Directorate arrested a woman with the initials NW in a case of alleged fraud and embezzlement by passing to become a Police Academy (Akpol) cadet.

North Sumatra Police Criminal Investigation Director Kombes Sumaryono said the investigation into the NW suspect had fulfilled the formal and material elements.

"Officers also secured a number of evidences including cell phones, receipts, electronic evidence, proof of money transfers and bank statements," he said.

According to Sumaryono, in this case investigators have examined 16 witnesses by recording the same four reports related to the alleged fraud and embezzlement.

"The suspect was charged with Articles 372 and 378 of the Criminal Code regarding embezzlement and fraud," he said.
