Jakarta Flood Handling Has Not Been Maximum, NasDem Calls The Due To Reduced Blue Troops

JAKARTA - Member of Commission D of the DKI Jakarta DPRD from the NasDem faction, Nova Harivan Paloh, revealed that the cause of flood management in Jakarta is not yet optimal.

This caused Jakarta to be hit by floods and heavy rains. In fact, a few days earlier, Jakarta had been flooded for more than 24 hours.

Nova said that the DKI Provincial Government seemed to allow the number of other individual service provider officers (PJLP) in charge of cleaning waterways and handling inundation.

"Some of the PJLP blue troops who have retired may not be replaced with new ones. Maybe the power will decrease. Even though in dealing with the flood problem, the quick response is blue troops," Nova said when contacted, Tuesday, March 26.

In addition, Nova also sees that the DKI Provincial Government does not regulate a budget that is optimally limited to prioritizing flood management.

"Faktor dana juga. Saya ngelihat ini permasalahan selalu muncul. Persoalan-permasalahan yang ada soal perbaikan saluran, atau hal lain, sekarang ini lambat," ungkapnya.

Nova gave an example, since last year the DKI Provincial Government has planned to build reservoirs in the Mampang area to reduce the impact of flooding. However, so far it has not been done.

Likewise with the progress of normalization of the Ciliwung River. The land acquisition process, which is the task of the DKI Provincial Government for normalization work, has not yet been completed.

"Which one do we want to solve? Between the normalization process or we want to create a new reservoir. Is this a problem of funds, or what problem?" he said.

Responding to this, Commission D of the DKI Jakarta DPRD plans to summon the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Office to collect the progress of flood control infrastructure development and routine handling.
