The Bogor City Police arrested a gangster member with the initials S who promoted online online gambling of online eyebrows through his group's Instagram account.
Bogor City Police Chief Kombes Pol Bismo Teguh Prakoso revealed the arrest of S on Friday, March 22, along with hundreds of other gangster members.
"There is one suspect from the Bogor Kaciw Team alliance, from November 2023 until now he has carried out his action for online gambling and received a profit of Rp. 1.5 million per month," Bismo said at a press conference in Bogor City, Monday, March 25, which was confiscated by Antara.
Initially, said Bismo, the perpetrator was contacted by a man named Bang Fals to promote online gambling sites.
Since November 2023, he continued, the perpetrators have promoted the site through the Instagram account @teamkaciwbogor which has 11,000 followers.
"So, the Instagram account was misused for gambling purposes. The money he got was for his friends," said Bismo.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bogor City Police, Kompol Lutfi Olot Gigantara, said that the money from promoting online gambling was to drink alcohol with his friends.
"Secondly, for their activities. So, they got the money for the benefit of their group again, including the flare, which was brought in during the arrests on Friday," he explained.
