East Jakarta SDA Sub-Department Calls Embankment Broken In Kalibaru Hek Responsible For DKI Jakarta Natural Resources Service

JAKARTA - Hundreds of joint officers began to handle the overflow of Kalibaru water, Simpang Hek, Kramat Jati District, East Jakarta, Monday, March 24, afternoon.

The water supply occurred at the Kalibaru location which is still in the process of handling the construction of a sheet pile by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Water Resources (SDA) Office.

Meanwhile, other locations whose plaster has been completed do not experience runoff. Temporary handling is carried out by making gabions from sacks filled with sand.

The temporary bronze sheet was carried out by 60 officers of the Water Resources Satpel (SDA) of Kramat Jati District and the East Jakarta SDA Satpel. This suspension succeeded in making the puddles at Simpang Hek recede.

Head of the East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-dept., Wawan Kurniawan, said that the sacks were arranged on the broken Kalibaru embankment to withstand the flow of water that overflowed onto Jalan Raya Bogor, as an initial treatment.

"The process of building the Kali Hek embankment is still being handled directly by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Natural Resources Service. So we are only the fastest handling to anticipate water flowing onto Jalan Raya Bogor, so as not to disturb motorists on Jalan Raya," he said.

Previously, it was reported that along Jalan Raya Bogor KM 19, the Hek area, Balekambang Village, Kramatjati District, East Jakarta, was flooded due to overflowing New River which passed on the side of Jalan Raya Bogor on Monday, March 25.

"The water has started to be inundated since 03.15 WIB. Currently it is still under treatment," said one of the DKI Jakarta BPBD officers, Monday, March 25.

The overflow was caused by a pile of river embankments that broke due to a very heavy water discharge.

"Flooding due to sheet piles broke," he said.
