Only Limpasan, Heru Budi Bantah Simpang HEK Floods Due To The New River Embankment Broken

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono denied that the flooding that occurred at the HEK intersection, Jalan Raya Bogor was caused by the breakdown of the Kali Baru embankment in Kramat Jati District, East Jakarta. Heru emphasized that the flood at the HEK intersection occurred due to runoff from the overflowing river flow through the temporary sheet pile. "No. So someone is being swabbed, there is absorption. (The embankment) is not broken, really. It is under construction," said Heru when met in Cengkareng, West Jakarta, Monday, March 25. Similarly, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Water Resources Service (SDA) Nugraharyadi emphasized that there was no broken embankment in the New River. He admitted that there was indeed work on the construction of the embankment in Kali Baru due to breaking down in November 2023. However, the flood that had submerged the 30-centimeter high HEK intersection was caused by overflowing river water due to heavy rains. "The overflow of water did not occur because of the broken Kali Baru embankment. The overflow of water that overflowed at the point (location) where there was work on the construction of the embankment, where the water came from a flood sent from Bogor after heavy rains on Sunday," said Nugraharyadi. It is known, along Jalan Raya Bogor KM 19, Hek area, Balekambang Village, Kramatjati District, East Jakarta, was flooded due to the overflow of the New River that passed on the side of Jalan Raya Bogor this morning.

Officers from the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) immediately carried out the handling starting at 04.30 WIB. Then at 09.00 WIB, the floods at the HEK intersection had receded.
