JAKARTA - A man with a batik motif tattoo on both hands with the initials ATJ (33) was arrested by the Tambora Police Criminal Investigation Unit, West Jakarta.

The recidivist man with various cases was arrested again after robbing the victim's cellphone with the initials HS on Jalan Sawah Lio, Jembatan Lima, Tambora District, West Jakarta.

The robbery of the perpetrator was caught on CCTV cameras. The victim also made a report at the Tambora Police Station after what happened to him.

Tambora Police Chief Kompol Donny Agung Harvida said the crime mode carried out by the perpetrators was quite unique. The perpetrators are in the mode of posting goods via Facebook to find targets of robbery.

Later, interested consumers will be invited to Cash On Delivery (COD) by the perpetrators. Then the perpetrator carried out his crime.

"Saat COD itu pelaku melakukan ancaman kepada korban dengan menggunakan senjata tajam," ujar Kompol Donny saat dikonfirmasi, Senin, 25 Maret.

According to Kompol Donny, the perpetrators usually act by inviting two of their friends so that the action is smooth and fast. Currently, the perpetrator's friend with the initials M and A is still being chased (DPO).

"The perpetrator we arrested was the frontman from this theft gang," he said.

The robbery occurred when the perpetrator was about to do COD with a potential victim who wanted to buy a cellphone. After arriving at the location, the perpetrator, who had met the victim in a deserted place, immediately threatened the victim using a sharp weapon.

"The perpetrator had threatened the victim not to scream, if even threatened with death if he shouted," he said.

The perpetrator is recorded as having 5 street crime cases and has been detained 5 times. The perpetrator is a recurrence recidivist with a different mode.

"The perpetrator ATJ has dealt with the police five times," he said.

From ATJ's crime record, as many as 5 cases of crime he committed occurred in the Tambora Police area. He was charged with Article 351 in 2012 with a 5-month sentence.

Second, a robbery case with Article 365 of the Criminal Code in 2016. ATJ was sentenced to 8 months. The third case related to drug cases in 2017 was sentenced to 4 years.

ATJ was also sentenced to 8 not on 378 cases at the Tamansari Police in 2020. The perpetrator was also detained in case 368 of the Criminal Code with a sentence of 3 years in prison in 2021.

The perpetrator admitted that he did not lose his head even though he had been imprisoned many times. He carried out his crime because he was hit by the economy and drugs.

"The proceeds of crime for daily needs. One of the perpetrators also used the money to buy methamphetamine," he said.

As a result of his actions, the widower and his only child were charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) in conjunction with Article 2 Paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 with a threat of 9 years in prison.
