Japan Condemns Attack On Civilians In Moscow

JAKARTA - Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs extends its condolences to the families of the shooting victims in the Moscow Region. Japan also condemned the attack on civilians in the Moscow Region.

"In connection with the shooting incident that occurred at a commercial facility in Krasnogorsk in the Moscow Region of the Russian Federation on March 22 local time which resulted in heavy casualties, Japan firmly condemns the attack on civilians," a spokesman for the Japanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement citing Antara.

"Japan expresses his sincere condolences to the families of the dead and sincere sympathy to those affected," the Japanese Foreign Ministry spokesman added.

On Friday (22/3), several gunmen began shooting at the Crocus City Hall concert venue outside Moscow. The incident was followed by a major fire.

Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) initially said 40 people were killed, but the Investigative Committee later said the death toll reached 60.

Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said 115 people were hospitalized, adding that more than 30 people were outpatient.

Meanwhile, emergency and security services continue to be on standby and carry out countermeasures at the scene.
