KemenPPPA Make Sure To Guard The Case Of East Jakarta Firefighters Allegedly Abusing Their Biological Children

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) has confirmed that it will continue to oversee the development of the East Jakarta Fire Department (Damkar) case suspected of molesting its biological child.

"In this case, the Ministry of PPPA respects the ongoing legal process and encourages the acceleration of the legal process being carried out by law enforcement officers," said Acting Deputy for Child Special Protection at the Ministry of PPPA, Puridiarta Nur Sitepu in a statement, in Jakarta, Friday, March 22, which was confiscated by Antara.

His party has coordinated with Polda Metro Jaya to follow up on the case.

"Based on the results of coordination with investigators, currently the legal process is still in the investigation stage. Visum et repertum has been carried out on January 6, 2024, on the same day the reporter reported his case. The complainant and the victim's grandmother have also been examined and questioned by investigators. The information is that the reported party has not yet been summoned because investigators still need additional evidence from the reporting party before conducting an examination," he said.

Paridiarta said the Friends of Women and Children Service Team (SAPA) together with UPT PPPA DKI Jakarta have also coordinated with Polda Metro Jaya regarding the examination and psychological assistance of child victims.

"The information from the victim's child has not yet been requested, but investigators plan to participate in the psychological examination later. The plan is that after all witnesses are examined and the results of the psychological assessment are available, a case will be held to increase the status of the reported party to become a suspect," he said.

Previously, an upload was circulated on social media about child sexual abuse allegedly committed by his biological father with the initials SN who works as an East Jakarta Damkar officer.

The incident allegedly occurred while the victim was staying at his father's place.
