Failed To Enter Senayan, Romahurmuziy Firmly Rejects KPU Recapitulation Results

JAKARTA - Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Advisory Council M. Romahurmuziy stated that his party rejected the results of the plenary vote recapitulation of the 2024 General Election at the national level set by the Indonesian General Election Commission on Wednesday, March 20.

He said that the PPP Central Executive Board (DPP) expressed this rejection after observing, researching, and comparing electoral district recapitulation (dapil) for the sake of electoral districts carefully with those displayed at the national plenary meeting from March 8 to 20, 2024.

"The DPP has been asked to withdraw all PPP witnesses at the KPU and not sign the KPU plenary results as part of the use of party constitutional rights," Romahurmuzy said in an official statement received Thursday, March 21.

Rommy (his nickname) said that his party received a significant difference in numbers between the total national gains displayed on the KPU plenary screen with comparisons in several electoral districts.

Based on internal data, according to him, PPP's vote acquisition far exceeds the parliamentary threshold or above 4 percent.

Therefore, PPP is preparing steps to file a lawsuit against Bawaslu and the Constitutional Court in order to restore the votes of PPP that have been bulldozed in several electoral districts.

According to him, this problem actually arose after the voting took place. "That PPP respects the work results of all elements of election organizers at all levels," he said.

Previously, the Indonesian KPU on Wednesday determined KPU Decree Number 360 of 2024 concerning the Determination of the results of the General Election of the President and Vice President, Members of the House of Representatives, Regional Representative Council, Provincial Regional House of Representatives, and National Regional House of Representatives/Cities in the 2024 General Election.

In this determination, PPP recorded 5,878,777 votes or 3.87 percent of the total national valid votes of 151,796,631 votes.

With this acquisition, PPP did not qualify because the number of votes did not reach 4 percent or more according to the parliamentary threshold requirements.
