Surya Paloh Prefers Sahroni Instead Of Anies Being A Cagub In The 2024 DKI Pilkada

Chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, was asked about who his party could potentially carry as a candidate for governor of DKI Jakarta in this year's regional election.

Surya was asked to choose two names, namely former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan or General Treasurer NasyDdvem Ahmad Sahroni. For now, Surya admits that he prefers Sahroni.

"You'll see. Tonight, (prefer) Sahroni," said Surya Paloh at NasDem Tower, Gondangdia, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, March 20.

This question was asked by Surya when responding to the results of the 2024 election vote that had been announced by the KPU. Sahroni, who was also present at NasDem Tower, then smiled happily when he heard Surya's answer.

Previously, the Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPW) of the DKI Jakarta NasDem Party, Wibi Andrino, confirmed that his party would carry the General Treasurer of NasDem Ahmad Sahroni running as a candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta.

This is based on internal party discussion. Sahroni's name has the greatest potential to be championed by NasDem in the 2024 DKI Pilgub from the option of two other cadre names that were also discussed.

"Our internal talks have started discussing the names. So far, from us, there are the names of Mr. Ahmad Sahroni, Ms. Okky Asokawati, and my own names. But today's discourse is the strongest, Mr. Ahmad Sahroni, to run in the DKI gubernatorial election," Wibi told reporters, Thursday, March 14.

According to Wibi, Sahroni has long revealed his readiness to run in regional head elections in Jakarta. This also makes NasDem more confident in carrying the man who has the nickname Crazy Rich Priok.

"He (Sahroni) is just ready, he has high dreams. He is ready to run for the DKI gubernatorial election or want to be placed anywhere, he's okay," said Wibi.

However, Wibi admitted that NasDem DKI Jakarta submitted the final decision on the determination of the cadres to be carried out in the DKI gubernatorial election to the Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the NasDem Party.
