JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin as well as the Steering Committee Chair of the Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team (TPPS) asked his staff to evaluate and analyze stunting reduction steps or tengkes.
The Vice President conveyed this during the Meeting of the Team for the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction at the Vice Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 19.
Immediately conduct further evaluations and analysis to prepare future improvement steps. I ask for the results to be reported to me as the Head of Steering at the latest in the next 2 weeks," he said.
The vice president said the stunting reduction was still below the target set by the government, and asked the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture to coordinate the National Population and Family Planning Agency, the National Development Planning Agency, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and other relevant ministries/agencies to conduct further evaluations and analyses.
He asked that the results of the evaluation and analysis be input for future program improvements. The vice president also asked for the formulation of strategies and programs that must be sharpened, so that in the remaining time they can reach or approach the targets that have been set.
The Vice President also reminded that this year's target will be achieved if all parties are more serious about implementing the stunting reduction program which is their responsibility, as well as innovating, collaborating, and coordinating in its implementation.
"We have to focus on interventions that have a big leverage for stunting reduction because we only have 7 months to achieve the target by 2024, while the target that must be lowered is still high," he said.
In addition, the Vice President requested that all relevant parties pay attention to the results of the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI) released by the Ministry of Health, and instruct that intervention programs, especially directed at efforts to prevent new stunting.
The implementation of the stunting reduction program must be monitored, evaluated, and reported in an integrated and periodic manner. So that it can be known the developments, achievements, and obstacles faced in its implementation, which then we can take the next step to ensure that the 2024 target can be achieved," he said.
Furthermore, the Vice President emphasized that in the future the program to accelerate stunting reduction must remain a priority for the central government, regional governments, and village governments, despite the change of leadership.
Therefore, he gave directions for the Minister of National Development Planning (PPN)/Head of Bappenas to ensure that stunting eradication remains a national priority in the draft RPJMN 2025-2029 which is being prepared.
In addition, the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas was also asked to review Presidential Decree No. 72 of 2021 concerning the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction, together with the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, BKKBN, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and other Ministries/K/L.
"Immediately compile the proposal for the initiative to revise Presidential Decree 72 of 2021 based on the evaluation of the achievement of targets involving stakeholders," he asked.
