Missing 5 Seats In DKI Jakarta DPRD, Gerindra Admits Too Focused On The Presidential Election

Gerindra is one of the political parties that has decreased the number of seats obtained in the 2024 Legislative Election (Pileg) of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.

In the 2019 Pilleg, the party led by Prabowo Subianto obtained 19 seats for members of the DKI Jakarta DPRD. Meanwhile, in the 2019 Legislative Election, Gerindra only got 14 seats in the Kebon Sirih parliament.

Deputy Chairperson of the DKI Jakarta DPRD from the Gerindra faction, Rani Mauliani, admitted that during this shorter campaign period than the previous election, Gerindra was more focused on winning Prabowo in the 2024 presidential election.

"Yes, it's okay. Who do you want to blame? Because yesterday Gerindra was more focused on the presidential election. Thank God, we were able to lead Mr. Prabowo to win in DKI Jakarta despite a narrow win," Rani said at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Tuesday, March 19.

Rani admitted that her party would evaluate the decline in party votes in the DKI Jakarta DPRD. This evaluation will be carried out after the 2024 General Election and 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Election stages are completed.

"The evaluation is still there, but at this time we are still focusing on the concentration of sound processing until the determination submitted by the KPU is announced tomorrow. We have not had any celebrations and also detailed discussions including the regional elections," explained Rani.

Even though the votes were reduced, Gerindra still received a share of the Deputy Chairperson of the DKI Jakarta DPRD. Regarding who will occupy the chair of the leader, Rani revealed that the party will determine.

"I don't know, whoever will be directed by the party. Anyone, can cooperate with the factions, control the interests below with all elements," he added.

The General Election Commission (KPU) of DKI Jakarta Province has determined the results of the vote acquisition for the 2024-2029 DKI Jakarta DPRD election. This is stated in the DKI Jakarta Provincial KPU Decree Number 33 of 2024.

As a result, 11 political parties are expected to qualify in this year's DKI DPRD legislative election. This is based on the calculation of determining the number of seats using the scientific song method regulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu).

The following is the dispute over the number of votes and seats of political parties in the DKI Jakarta DPRD:- The National Awakening Party (PKB): 470,682 votes (10 seats) - the Greater Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra): 728,297 votes (14 seats) - the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP): 850,174 votes (15 seats) - the Golkar Party (Golkar): 517,819 votes (10 seats) - NasDem Party: 545,235 votes (11 seats) - Prosperous Justice Party (PKS): 1,021,028 votes (18 seats) - The National Mandate Party (PAN): 455,906 votes (10 seats) - Democratic Party: 444,314 votes (8 seats) - Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI): 465,936 votes (8 seats) - Perindo Party: 160,203 votes (1 seats) - United Development Party (PPP): 153,240 votes (1 seats)

Meanwhile, there are 7 parties that did not qualify for the seat of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Legislative Election, namely: - Labor Party: 69,969 votes - Indonesian People's Wave Party (Gelora): 62,850 votes - Nusantara Awakening Party: 19,204 votes - People's Conscience Party (Hanura): 26,537 votes - The Garda Party of the Republic of Indonesia (Garuda): 12,826- Crescent Star Party (PBB): 15,750- Ummat Party: 56,271
