110 Buildings In Palabuhanratu Damaged By Rob Flood

SUKABUMI - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sukabumi Regency, West Java, noted that there were 110 buildings in the form of houses and stalls damaged due to the impact of the coastal tidal flood disaster in Palabuhanratu District.

"The majority of the damaged buildings are commensurate or coastal. There were no casualties in this incident because when the flood hit residents or building owners had left the location," said Sukabumi Regency BPBD Chief Executive Deden Sumpena as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 18.

According to Deden, from the results of the data collection carried out by his party, it turned out that the majority of the buildings were not privately owned because they were in a 50 meter area commensurate with the coast or coast, so they could be said to be "liar".

However, the Sukabumi Regency Government continues to provide assistance to families affected by the tidal flood, only in the form of emergency assistance such as blankets and basic necessities. Meanwhile, repair assistance cannot be carried out due to land ownership problems.

The number of buildings affected by the tidal flood is in Dewa Jayanti, Citepus Village and Palabuhanratu Village. On the basis of ownership status and location of the land, the Sukabumi Regency Government cannot provide assistance for building repairs, either sourced from the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) or Unexpected Costs (BTT).

"Until now, we are still collecting data on buildings affected by tidal flooding. It's just that for assistance, the majority may not get repair assistance, but we still provide emergency assistance in the form of blankets and basic necessities," he added.

Regarding aid, the Sukabumi Regency BPBD is still coordinating with the local Social Service so that the assistance distributed can be right on target and does not violate the rules, especially buildings that are within 50 meters worth the coast or coast.

On the other hand, Deden appealed to the public not to temporarily move around the beach because tidal flooding is still happening plus high waves and waves which can certainly endanger anyone.

Tidal floods not only occurred in the Palabuhanratu area, but also hit the Ujunggenteng Beach area, Ciracang District. As a result of the disaster in Ujunggenteng as many as 100 boats and 30 warehouses belonging to fishermen were damaged.
